Paradoxes of Christ

There are many Scriptures about Christ that seem contrary to common sense or seem contradictory; but are true. The life and ministry of Jesus Christ is a divine paradox in itself. Here are a few Paradoxes of Christ and the Scriptures that support them.

1. "And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred." (Matthew 4:2)
   
   JESUS HUNGERED BUT FED MULTITUDES.
   "There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many? And Jesus said, "Make the men sit down." Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand. And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would. When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, "Gather up the fragments that remain that nothing be lost." Therefore they gathered them together, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above unto them that had eaten. (John 6:9-13)
2. Now Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour. (John 4:6)
   
   JESUS GREW WEARY BUT IS OUR REST
   "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls." (Matthew 11:28-29)
3. After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scriptures might be fulfilled, saith, "I thirst." (John 19:28)
   
   JESUS THIRSTED BUT WAS THE "WATER OF LIFE".
   "But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life." (John 4:14)
4. Jesus wept. (John 11:35)
   
   JESUS CRIED BUT WIPES AWAY OUR TEARS.
   And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. (Revelation 21:4)
5. And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of the skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha: Where they crucified him, and two others with him, on either side one, and Jesus in the midst. (John 19:17-18)
   
   JESUS WAS PUT TO DEATH BUT RAISED THE DEAD
   And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, "Lazarus, come forth." And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus said unto them, "Loose him, and let him go. (John 11:43-44)
